Your First Visit
Coming to a church for the first time can raise some questions. How do I get there? What about the kids? What should I wear? What should I expect? We hope that this section will be helpful.
Getting There
We meet in the Canoe Creek Charter School located at 3600 Canoe Creek Rd. When you get there follow the signs and look for the first time visitor parking spots. There will be someone there to greet you and guide you and your kids to your Fellowship Groups or to the services. Please click here or on the directions button on the top right of the page for a map.
What to Wear
We are more interested in getting to know you then what you are wearing. Dress casually and you will fit in.
What about My Kids
We have a full range of children's classes; from the babies to the high school. Our staff and volunteers are dedicated to providing a safe comfortable environment for your children. During our fellowship groups from 9:45-11:00 and during our service time 11:10-12:00 there are places for your children to learn, enjoy, and play. Some people ask if they can bring their baby into the service with them and our answer is yes. We just ask that you step outside if the child begins to distract those sitting around you.
What to Expect
Expect a fellowship type atmosphere. We have always been described as a comfortable church where you feel welcomed. We want everyone to feel comfortable enough to return again to hear a relevant message that challenges you and moves you outside your comfort zone. The fellowship groups and the service are designed to help us understand and be reminded of how the word of God is still very relevant to the issues we face today and how God’s word can change our lives if we are willing to face the challenge.
Our mission includes the spiritual growth of the human mind and heart from infancy. This is why children and family are very important to us at Canoe Creek Christian Church. We promise to love, engage, and invest in your children from birth through High School. We will do this through age appropriate learning from teachers and mentors who have a passion for children and students. All of our ministry volunteers working with children and students have to have a background check to ensure the highest level of security and safety for your child. We have three service hours and below are the opportunities during those service hours for your children.
8:30 AM Service Hour
During the 8:30 service we have a nursery for the infants through 3 years of age. In the near future we will be adding a full hour of children's programing during the early service to provide you with more excelent opportunities to grow and learn.
9:45 AM Sevice Hour
We have a full range of children's programs for your children during this time, from the infants to the 5th grade students. They will engage in bible learning activities with passionate teachers and learn through storys, songs, scripture readings, hands on activities and much more.
11:00 AM Service Hour
During our third service hour the 1st through 5th grade students learn more about God's word in a worship service designed for children. We call this worship service "The Creek". The kids will sing, serve, read, play and learn. The pre-school students will grow in WEE Worship and the infants will be nurtured with Christian love in our nursery.
Middle & High School Students
We have separate Bible studies for Middle and High School students on Sunday mornings at 9:45 AM. The students join the adults for worship in either the 8:30 AM or 11:00 AM Services. We also have a Wednesday night youth program that takes place at "The Shack". This is located at 3490 Cord Ave. Wednesday night is from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. In addtion to these services for youth there are many events and opportunities for the youth to spend time together. Please check our calendar for more.
